This was a fun cake to do for a Luau themed birthday party!

iPhone Cake

I made this cake for my husbands birthday this year! It was tons of fun but a little hard to keep myself in control! I could have made hundreds of apps it was so stinkin fun! But I tried to keep it to just the basics! He loved it!

Gran Gran Turns 80

I made this cake for my Great Grandpa (Gran Gran) who turned 80! It just so happened that it fell the same weekend as the previous 8 year olds western themed cake so the two cakes used the same ideas!

Happy Birthday Partner!

This cake was done for a sweet little boy turning 8! My favorite part of this cake
was the rope on the top!

Kaity's 7th Birthday

My daughter helped me make this cake for our cousin Kaity's 7th birthday! She had a luau theme. I had a ton of fun teaching my daughter many different techniques used in this cake! I thought she did a great job!

Chester

My daughter loves horse back riding so for her family party I thought it would be really fun to make a cake that looked like her favorite horse Chester. It actually turned out pretty accurate, Chester has kind of a short face with bright blue eyes and black specks. We don't normally use a maroon bridle but that's okay. Lots of fun to make however she said that eating Chester was the worst part of the day. She said it just felt wrong lol! At least it was vanilla cake and not red velvet right???

A Boingo's Party

This is a cake I did for a sweet little girl's 6th birthday party held at a local restaurant called Boingo's. We made the cake to match the invitations. So fun and sooo cute! Vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant!

A Cousins Birthday

These are 2 cakes that I did for cousins who had their birthday parties together! They wanted the cakes similar but not identical. So this is what we came up with :)

And then we did cupcakes to match :)

Big Bird Cake

This is a cake I did for a little boys 4th birthday. He wanted Big Bird - I wasn't thrilled with the face but I'm not an artist so this is the best I could do freehand!

My Birthday Cake

So it took me quite some time to decide how I wanted to do MY birthday cake! And even as I was decorating it I still made some changes to my original thoughts! I knew I was only going to eat one piece so I wanted it to be a good one!

I made it three layers, two chocolate one vanilla and I put a caramel buttercream filling inbetween each layer with halloween sprinkles :)

And of course I had to incorporate my much coveted little silver balls! So they became the bats eyes! I had a ton of fun making the cake, it tasted yummy too but it was mostly just fun to make!

70th Birthday

I made these cupcakes for my Grandma's 70th Birthday! The theme was colorful flowers! It was perfect and so fun to make all of the flowers for the toppers.

I used the cupcake boxes to display all of the cupcakes so for the top tier I made a white cake and then did a basket weave design. I used crushed oreos for the dirt in the basket and then attached some of the cupcakes with the same colorful flowers with skewers.

Here are some views of it all put together!

There were about 9 different flavors to choose from so everyone should have been able to find something they likes :)

The flowers were all made out of fondant with royal icing centers and sprinkles.

Horse Birthday

I made these cupcakes for a little girl who loves horses and butterflies. She was having a hard time deciding whether to get little horses or little butterflies, so we decided to do horses with butterflies on the rump :) I used lots of bright colors for the horses and thought they turned out so cute. The actual horse is made out of fondant and then the detail is all out of royal icing. Happy 9th Birthday Jessica!

Batman Birthday

This is a batman cake I did for my son's 4th birthday. Both his 2nd and 3rd birthdays were of Thomas the Train so I was a bit unprepared when he announced he wanted Batman! I looked around and found a few ideas. I put them together and came up with my own Batman cake. He said it was perfect except it was supposed to be blue and black not yellow and black. Go figure!

It is chocolate cake with yellow buttercream icing. All of the black is fondant. I did the batman symbol and the circle freehand. The buildings I used various cookie cutters.

I used royal icing to pipe the symbol on the fondant for the cupcakes. There was no way I was going to hand cut 24 of those things! I learned lots and realized after I had them all done an easier way to do it that would have made them look better and take less time. Oh well, you live and learn!

On some of the cupcake toppers instead of putting the batman symbol I put the letters of my son's name and the number 4 since he was turning 4. He thought that was cool!

USS Enterprise Birthday Cake

I had an order to do a Star Trek Birthday cake! I've never even watched Star Trek so I had to do quite a bit of research so I knew what I was trying to create! The Enterprise is made out of fondant and buttercream frosting. This was my first attempt at using the edible spray paint on the cake. I did learn that you don't get nearly as much coverage out of a can as it says you should :) If I ever did another Star Trek cake I would definitely do some things differently, you live and learn I guess!

9 Year Old Birthday Boy

These were for a little boy turning 9 years old! I hesitated on using that particular number 9 because it was exactly the same as the 6 in the set. I had several people ask if it was a 6 or a 9, but in the end I decided to use it because I liked the font and thought it went well with the circles. Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting! Very simple and oh so yummy!!!
