It's Autumn Time!!!

I love the fall season! I love everything about it! The cooler weather, the changing colors of the leaves, the smells of the fall, and especially pumpkins!!! So here is my first autumn creation of the season!!!

These are more of the same style as last weeks. Just for more offices :)

I did have fun trying out swirled frosting though :) Way fun to do and great for using up little tidbits of frosting :)

Time to Celebrate!!!

Woohoo!!! Such a fun and exciting day! Yesterday, as I'm sure all of you are well aware, I took 4 entries to the County Fair for judging. I went by today and found out that my Halloween Theme cake took 1st place in its class! After reveling in the fact that I actually won something, I went over to the cupcake tasting area and discovered that my peanut butter cupcakes took 1st place and the carrot cake cupcake took 2nd place in their class :) Only the mint oreo didn't place which was soooo funny cause I totally thought that was the one that might win! Oh well! So, I definitely was on cloud 9!

Then I get home and checked my email only to discover that the gentleman who had contacted me a couple of weeks ago about my cupcake boxes actually used them in his online article!!! Woohoo!!! I'm so excited! I copied and pasted his message to me with a link to the article if anyone is interested in checking it out!

It's Fair Time

Our county fair allows residents to enter items to be judged either on taste or decoration for cakes and cookies and other edibles. I've wanted to do it the last couple of years but finally got around to doing it this year. I made three different flavors of cupcakes to be judged on taste and I decorated a Halloween cake to be judged on decorations. I'm not thrilled with the Halloween cake simply because I had such grander plans. But, life is what it is and so I did what I could with the time that I had. The base of the cake can be false but every decoration has to be edible. I had fun using lots of different mediums that I don't use very often. We'll see how I do :)

These are for a local oral surgeon's office. They deliver them to the dentist offices who refer patients to them. Each cupcake has a tooth and toothbrush.

Pink & Brown Polka Dot Baby Shower

I did this cake for a baby shower. The request was for a pink and brown polka dot cake with a rattle on the top!

Thomas the Tank Engine

This cake was for a little boys birthday. It was my first attempt at a 3D cake. Lots of fun!!

Cupcake Bouqet

This was for a bridal shower. They requested a cupcake bouquet with some cake pops and then pretty much left it up to me to decide how to do it all. It was my first attempt at a cupcake bouquet and I was quite pleased with the end result. As always, it was definitely a learning experiment but I will definitely make another one very soon :)

So excited, just thought I would share the news with my 4 wonderful followers :) I just checked my flickr account where I also post many of my cake and cupcake creations. I had a message on there from a photography blogger asking for permission to use some pictures of my cupcake boxes that my dad and I made! I am so way excited!
